End Times: Are You Ready?

Turn on the news on any given day and you will be confronted with a world that seems to be accelerating toward something. Wars breaking out in multiple regions simultaneously. Natural disasters at a frequency and scale that was unthinkable a generation ago. Political instability. Economic uncertainty. A moral landscape that has shifted so dramatically in such a short time that many older believers genuinely cannot recognize the world they are now living in. There is a deep, collective unease — a sense that something is coming, even among people who do not believe in God. What does the Bible say about this moment?

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh." (Matthew 24:32). The Lord Jesus Himself told His disciples — and by extension, us — to watch for the signs of His return. He did not leave us in the dark. He gave us a detailed description of what the world would look like in the season of His coming. And as you read Matthew 24, as you read Daniel, as you read Revelation — it becomes impossible not to notice how precisely the world of today matches the descriptions given two thousand years ago.

Wars and rumors of wars. Pestilences — the world has just lived through a global pandemic that shut down civilization and killed millions. Earthquakes in diverse places. The love of many growing cold. The rise of false prophets. The normalization of what God calls abomination. The persecution of believers. The falling away from faith — what the Bible calls the great apostasy — happening in real time, as churches empty and Christian values are increasingly treated as social liabilities. These are not distant prophecies. They are the daily news cycle.

But here is what separates the believer from the fearful: we were told this was coming. God did not allow these events to blindside His people. He gave us a map. He told us that when we see these things begin to happen, we are to "look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28). The end times are not a message of doom for the child of God — they are a message of imminent reunion. Our King is coming back. And those who are ready have every reason to look forward with hope rather than backward with fear.

But — and this is critical — the question is not whether Jesus is coming. The question is whether you will be ready when He comes. "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." (Matthew 24:42). Readiness is not passive. You do not simply wait for Jesus by sitting still. Readiness means a life of holiness — free from the stains the world tries to smear on your identity. It means an active prayer life that keeps your spirit sharp and attuned to God's voice. It means souls brought into the kingdom — because how will your family, your colleagues, your neighbors be ready if no one tells them?
