There is a particular kind of pain that is very difficult to explain to someone who has not felt it. It is the pain of knowing exactly what you should do — and being unable to do it. It is the removal of every spiritual, emotional, or demonic weight that is preventing you from walking fully in your God-given identity and destiny. Jesus did not come to make you a better version of your bound self. He came to set you completely free.
In Luke 4:18, Jesus stood in the synagogue and read from the scroll of Isaiah: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised." This was not a metaphor. This was His mission statement. If Jesus came to preach deliverance to the captives, it means there are captives who need deliverance — even among those who call themselves His children.
Bondage does not always look like addiction or obvious sin. One of the greatest lies the enemy has planted in the Church is shame. The lie that says: "If you were truly spiritual, you would not need deliverance. Only weak Christians struggle like this." But look at how many mighty men and women in the Bible needed a direct intervention from God to break free from something that had them bound.
