Practically, here is how to begin. First: set a prayer time and protect it ferociously. The enemy will fill every minute of your day if you do not deliberately carve out time for God. Second: use prayer points — specific, targeted petitions rather than vague generalities. "Lord bless me" is a prayer. "Every power assigned to frustrate my destiny this season, be paralyzed now in the name of Jesus" — that is a prayer point. Be specific. Be direct. Third: pray in the Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to pray through you when your natural words run out, when you do not know what to pray, when the situation is too deep for language. Let Him intercede through you.
